2). PROBLEM IT SOLVES:
The anime community in Nigeria is relatively small but growing. As anime movies gain more audience and the community expands, the need to access more quality content with ease rises.
In Nigeria, there are very feweeé platforms that provide the thriving amine community with the desired content. Netflix, which leads the video streaming business and has the largest market share in the video-on-demand industry, also very popular in Nigeria, has very limited anime movies to serve the hungry anime community. The very popular anime movies with a large fan base and audience are not available on Netflix. This leaves fans looking for alternatives.
Some online anime streaming platforms with a large collection of anime movies and series exist, however they are geo restricted — they are not accessible in Nigeria. Some of these platforms include Crunchyroll and Funimation. The few platforms that are accessible in Nigeria either have low quality anime movies or are riddled with ads, making it difficult to navigate and access contents.
The AnimeHub proposition addresses the aforementioned problems by providing a user-centric, easy-to-use and affordable platform, accessible across multiple devices including mobile phones, laptops, ipads and smart tv, for online streaming and offline access of high quality anime movies and series.
3). TARGET AUDIENCE:
AnimeHub is designed for anime fans (both new and old) on-the-go, catering to a broad audience of smartphone,laptop,ipads and tv users who want to access a diverse range of anime content anytime, anywhere.
The target market includes anime enthusiasts of all ages, from casual viewers to hardcore fans who want access to a diverse range of anime genres and series.
4). KEY FEATURES AND DIFFERENTIATORS:
- Personalized Recommendations: As one of its features, AnimeHub includes an AI-driven recommendation system that learns from user preferences, viewing history, and ratings to provide a personalized experience. The system suggests anime contents, movies or series, to optimize the user’s viewing experience.
- Offline Viewing: One of AnimeHub’s standout features is the ability for users to download their favorite anime episodes for offline viewing. This caters to users who may have limited internet access or want to enjoy anime on-the-go without relying on a continuous internet connection.

As a newbie product manager on the starting line waiting for the gun shot.
As part of the training, we were given a task to conduct a product assessment and do an analysis of a product of our choice. As a die hard anime fan in Nigeria, I have often had a tough time streaming and downloading anime. Websites riddled with ads, or geo restriction won’t let me stream or download contents. This challenge and many more, which I believe resonates well with the anime community in this part of the world, is the reason for my product choice. This is more like bringing my hobby to life as a product, solving real-life problems in the anime world in Nigeria.
