We needed an urgent patch to be released for the customers as couple of users raised query regarding submission link not working for blogs on the website. I worked with customers to gather their issues and see were the problem lies. It was not very difficult fix and when i brought to engineering they identified it easily. Now we need to implement it and release it soon. They made the fix ready but weren’t ready to release it very next day saying all release go on Monday and this will follow same process. Monday was 5 days later and we cant afford to keep users hanging there without they being able to submit their questions and blogs. I convinced the engineering manager that if this is doable we should do it asap as delaying will impact lot on out engagement. We should not skip any mandatory process affecting the update like performance of security tests but if everything is passed it should’t be delayed. There were round of discussion and they told to get VP approval. I reached out to business head and made him understand same situation with correct data and how much engagement we get in 5 days. Finally i got the approval and released the fix to customers. They were quite happy with our quick turnaround and praised us much.
