clarification questions:-

what does it mean by older people?let’s take people with 50+ age

What does it mean by improvement?  Do you have any goal in your head?

I would choose goal as acquisition & social impact .

User group:-

1.power user(18-35)

2. older people

3.advertisers

choosing the older people as per requirement.

Pain points:-

1.Don’t know how to surf on it.

2.Can’t choose which category they want to see.

3.Less personalize videos present.

4.poor UI.

5.forget to use.

Solution:-

1.As soon as they finish the onboarding process a tutorial shows them how to surf on it.

2.We can also ask for which category they want to see and after selecting it in future if they want to change then they can change it from settings.

3.Use ML/AI based solutions to provide more personalized solution also provide creators more rewards if they belong to this age group.

4.make digital buttons more engaging eg- big size and colors as per A/B test.

5.send them notifications but not to frequent otherwise they can get offend.

Prioritization:-

Pain points solution Impact Effort
1 1 Medium Easy
2 2 High Easy
3 3 High Medium
4 4 High Medium
5 5 Medium Medium

Prioritization:-I would like to choose 2,3 &4.

Success metric:-

1.% increase in signup in older peole  w-o-w and m-o-m.

2. % increase in signup in power user W-o-w and m-o-m.

3.% increase in average time spent by power user.

4. % increase in average time spent by older people .

Opening: Recap mission of TikTok. Current functionality. Prime user segment, how tiktok solves their problem. Work with interviewer to validate their expectations, narrow down scope of answer and/or share assumptions.

User: Identify further user segments and respective challenges. Ex. Early generation of Millenials (Parents), Bloomers or Senior Citizens.

Let’s go with Millenial Parents. Share views on why choose one vs other.

Painpoints: Do a Deep dive into current pain points. List 3-5 pain points. Ex. boredom, ease of use, network presence, screen time for kids. See if we get a theme. Lets say screen time for kids.

Ideas: Now elaborate on a solution theme, screen time for kids – should be productive yet hooked. Ex. Entertainment, Education, Creative Exploration.

Description: Let’s evaluate value vs effort vs impact. Relist solutions by 2×2 matrix or RICE score or MoSCoW, or any other frameworks. Pros / Cons of each. Elaborate on choosing one option.

Entertainment – Too many options out there with parental controls. Busy space. Easy to achieve. May or may not have enough impact intended. One way engagement. Low Effort High Value Instant Impact – Low hanging fruit. Should Do.

Education – First acquire teachers, coaches, other sources of quality content to teach children by appropriate age, class, curriculum, and many more things. Mammoth undertaking – will demand involvement of muti facet portfolio leaders to sponsor this undertaking. High Effort, Low Value, Unknown impact – High Risk. Won’t Do.

Exploration – Parents and Children design their own tasks, assignments, experiments. Give them unique visualization on screen when they record their videos. Upload videos for kids. Proven record of viewership from kids and everyone else (all age groups – cuteness factor). High Effort, High Value, High Impact. Big Bet. Must Do.

Evalution: Acquisition and Engagement. Leading to Referrals. Maybe focus on one demography. Calculate thresholds for metrics.

Summarize overall objective and approach to strategize a solution. Open questions.
