Metrics
The intent is to make users spend as much time on FB as possible, more time spent, more ad impressions, more CTR and more ad revenue. For that there are more but few below metrics I would like to track
- # of recommendations/reviews/ratings – per article, for all articles/books
- # of users searching for a recommendations and getting it
- Encouraging users to try the product/service – # of new users trying,
- # of return users,
- time spent in this service inside Facebook
User personas targeted
For the metrics mentioned I would like to target both the recommendation seeker and provider
UX
This feature has the potential to have high CTR because of the targeted nature of the service/product.
I would like to first do the following
- Based on the current information about the user suggest them to join book groups
- Request feedback on books
- Encourage them to try this service
Have a books feature or the naming can be worked out on left hand side of the webpage similar to where different groups are located
| User | Use | Difficulty | Impact | Ranking |
| Seeker/Giver | Book Clubs – location wise, genre wise | Easy – similar to groups | High | 1 |
| Seeker | Based on your profile and interests suggesting recommendations | Easy- building a recommendation engine. Facebook’s strength | High | 1 |
| Seeker | Search criteria by genre, author and filter criteria | Medium – Need a repository of recommendation to be built, taking time | High | 2 |
| Giver | To build repository, propping people to provide reviews | Difficult – Conversion rate will be low | High | 2 |
| Ranking | Provide rankings/trending for the month/week by genre or through affiliate information network like NY times ranking etc | Easy | Medium | 3 |
