Lets list down the difficulties faced by people with hearing disability.

1. Since they cannot hear they need to do lip reading which is not always foolproof

2. they are oblivious to situations where someone is calling from behind

3. unable to recognize sounds / danger – vehicle horns / ambulance siren / fire brigade alarm

4. unable to detect announcements airport public place – no one to listen them

5. entertainment – music / movies etc can see but not without subtitles

Currently there are audio devices that can be fitted in ear which help them hear. But these devices do not provide same experience as human ear and voice is many times – low, garbled, not smooth.

Hence we need to design a a device which will work with their other senses and help them tackle all the 5 problems mentioned above.

Device – Wearable Smart Glasses with built in microphone, camera and display, vibration module and sync or connecting with mobile.

1. They can complement lip reading done by differently abled and can also provide subtitles on display / glass when they face difficulties while talking with people

2. These smart glasses will have ability to actively listen surroundings and nudge user using vibrations if some one is calling from behind.

3. Differntly abled people can set up vibrations types for various dangers such as ambulance alram, fire brigade, traffic / horns etc. Based on pattern of vibrations set

4. Announcements can be shown on display as a subtitles or instructions

5. Subtitles can be shown while watching movies / drama, skits, plays etc.
