At MBM Africa, we are committed to creating opportunities for LIMITLESS African founders to create sustainable businesses that grow job opportunities for Africans Founders. Accelerating technology startup ideas seems to be an arduous task for most entrepreneurs, especially with the small amount of help that is given to them. The MBM Africa Program will provide a structured and accelerated program that allows startups in their early phases to have betterment in all their activities rather than getting wasted time! Building a community for founders, for peer to peer feedback, knowledge and resource, idea nurturing, market research as well as cultivating collaborating opportunities.

*Mentored founders monthly to navigate from idea to MVP and finally to the launch phase to 7 startups, with 5 gaining seed funding ranging from $50k – $1m and on their way to series A.

*Experience defining value propositions within technology startups, refining business models and improving product offering in difficult fragment markets of Africa while creating repeatable frameworks for the founders to use.

*Produce and review product requirements documents (PRD) including ensuring products and releases are launched correctly and on schedule tracking

Founder – CMO MyBizMarketer

*Developed the brand story, identity, positioning, messaging, and communications to build a strong brand for the client. One healthcare startup converted 10k users in 3 months.

*Developed GTM strategy, helping founders define that target audience, and address distribution, competition and demand while creating marketing and sales plans.
Defining and clarifying our clients’ target markets led to the creation of buyer personas before developing marketing and advertising campaigns.

*Advised and strategising with founders on leveraging the latest marketing technology and methods in customer acquisition are the keys to successful cost-effective customer acquisition

Community Lead for Startup Weekend Women Edition Kenya

Techstars Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Techstars Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations.

Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurs. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Whether you are looking for feedback on an idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Techstars Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.

Community Manager

Managed the marketing and communications strategy to grow the community of product managers and partners by 21% through digital marketing campaigns by using Twitter, Facebook, content creation and blogs; built relationships with PR and media stakeholders; launched new growth initiatives, including community meetups. Collected and tracked key metrics, sign-ups, newsletter subscription, numbers of attendees per month meetups per location [6], the speaker signs for conferences or meetups.
Responsible for tickets sales of the annual ProductCamp Unconference, outreach of speakers and partners for product demos and product management subject matter workshops.

1M/1M Ambassador

One Million by One Million is a global initiative that aims to help a million entrepreneurs reach a million dollars in annual revenue by 2020, thereby creating a trillion dollars in global GDP and ten million jobs.

As part of the 1Mby1M initiative, Sramana Mitra offers free weekly online strategy roundtables for entrepreneurs looking to discuss positioning, financing, and other aspects of a startup venture. Up to 1,000 people can attend each session, but only the first five who register to pitch will be able to present their business ideas. Product Manager

*PM for Level 3’s Communications Internet, Data and Managed Services product portfolios.
*Worked closely with Level 3 Managed Security Clients, Sales, Presales, Marketing, & internal teams to gather feedback that can be distilled into a value-driven proposition roadmap Level 3 Communications Managed Network and Security Service Portfolio. A complex solution of hardware/ software with support of in-house and outsourced components.
*Championed the outcomes of clients’ expectations from our services and translated these into tangible requirements that address the business problem for complex multiple products and partner collaboration initiatives for Fortune 500 clients, including the Federal government.
Owned the dialogue between the service requirements and the delivery capabilities that drive value to the client and solve their problems (interfacing with internal/ external stakeholders, hardware and software development teams)
*Ownership of our global services portfolio, identifying opportunities to drive alignment, consistency and repeatability in the offering(s) Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upsell, building propositions with other service lines within the Level 3 products portfolio [ Voice, Data, Infrastructure/ Network or Co-location etc]
*Managed the launching of multiple products, the end-to-end customer experience from quote to cash of commercial and federal channels, resulting in $20m-$100 revenue annually
Coordinating internal/external teams in Architecture/Engineering and Operational/Engineering towards the delivery of the Managed Security Service Product Roadmap offerings. Addressed the business requirements, scope, budget, timelines, and qualitative deliverables to meet the market demands, sales objectives, and customer expectations.

Enterprise Network Security

Continually monitor the enterprise network for security trouble and repair reports or repair requests to determine any true intrusions. Investigate DDoS attacks, spam, malware, web sense events.
Required to provide quality customer service to all clients being mindful of the sensitivity of types of clients, ie. government or agency or business type, where downtime meant significant impact to the bottom line or life itself
Performed the recommendations modifications to access control lists to prevent and mitigate intrusions on an enterprise network or otherwise
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of network technology services to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s information assets
Collaborate with all the relevant departments/external clients to ensure timely implementation of controls, including patching, with minimal impact on the business operations. In addition to coordination external security organizations to monitor security threats and defence on client networks.
