Product Manager, IBM Cloud | Problem Finder ? | Community Organizer ???? | Blacks in Technology

?? I’m a native New Yorker born and raised of Jamaican descent. I’m a proud son of immigrants. I got my drive from my father who is a mechanical engineer and my mother who holds a PhD in library science. Mediocrity is not in my DNA. I pride myself on being a forward thinker, driven, and optimistic.

? I’m experienced in data analysis, cloud computing, product management, and operations management. Graduated from SUNY Old Westbury with a major in Psychology and Computer Science. I guess you can say I always wanted to know how computers worked. Both the biological one and the mechanical.

???? I am super passionate about product management. I’m a gamer so I gamify the problem finding/solving and reap the reward of customer satisfaction. Product management is all about empathizing with your users, identifying opportunities, and collaborating with others. I’m always searching for new challenges and ways to level up. Never settle.

? I am a film buff, Sneakerhead, FinTech junkie, NFT Minter, Web3 evangelist, YouTube enthusiast and e-sports investor. For fun, I enjoy community organizing, traveling, whisky, DJ’ing, creating content, and reading. Let’s connect!

Product Manager

My passion for sneakers, product management as well as my experience at an early stage startup led me to a very unique opportunity. As the founding product manager, I had to drive development and strategy. During the pandemic, a new problem for sneaker enthusiasts arose. The traditional way of acquiring sneakers in stores was ravished. The sneaker stores pivoted to an online-only model.

Operations Manager, Claims

Led the claims department for Wagmo’s quickly growing Wellness and Insurance product offerings in addition to providing strategic analysis and development of the claims process. I also served as the product owner to build features and products to provide excellent claims processing within 24 hours. I also implemented the process for the insurance offering.

I’m also collaborating with Wagmo’s engineering team and customer experience division to bring problem solving solutions and operational procedures in a fast-paced startup company.

While at Wagmo, we were able to raise over $15 million in funding to serve pet parents across the nation.

Operations Associate, Claims & Customer Experience

After being brought on to a scrappy team of 4 people, I spearheaded the claims division for the industry’s first ever pet wellness product. Here I built the customer’s claim journey to provide a seamless experience including 24 hour reimbursements.

I also oversaw the customer experience team and built processes to help deliver world class customer service.

Worked closely with Wagmo’s development team to innovate a robust claim operations system. Processed claims and provided analysis as needed.

Assistant Program Director

My skills in healthtech landed me to manage the daily operations at a non-profit Enriched Housing Program for low-income senior citizens and provided community development. Here, I mastered my operation management skills along with working with cross-functional teams. I led the day-to-day operations of New York City buildings and built programs and processes from the ground up.

Data Analyst

At this established healthtech company, I collected and conducted data analyses from a patient database for several healthcare partners and providers to help make data-driven decisions. This was used by account executives and therapists to provide a structured database for customer service improvement, projections and organization.

Professional development

Various mentorship programs, community work, travel, internships and soul searching.

During this time I practiced meditation techniques, self improvement tactics and studied with some of the most amazing financial experts. I read some books and spoke with mentors that really impacted my outlook on life and what the future may hold. You are the co-creator of your universe and taking control of your life is an inside job. Make the best of it. Remain positive and mindful and the rest will fall into place.
