We are seeking an experienced Information Governance and Privacy Technical Product Manager with domain expertise in privacy controls, data security, and secure product development to ensure robust privacy and information governance in our product lifecycle. As a Senior Staff Technical Product Manager, your job will be focused on establishing and reinforcing the privacy foundation that underpins all our technologies and products.
You will work closely with our dedicated engineers to ensure the right privacy and information governance features are built into our products from the onset. You will understand real-world information governance and privacy challenges, anticipate potential threats, and work collaboratively with Privacy Engineering, Security, IT, Legal, and business partners to create a roadmap to address them effectively. A strong technical background in privacy, security, and data governance is critical to recognize the problem space and exploring possible technical solutions in collaboration with partners.

What You’ll Be Doing
Develop the vision and strategy, with various partners, for information governance and privacy across our products. This includes developing and implementing a comprehensive information governance and compliance program tailored to the unique needs of our organization, in alignment with internal requirements and external compliance obligations and best practices (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, CCPA/privacy legal requirements, NIST Privacy Framework/AI Risk Management Framework, UN R155, and UN R156). Work with teams across the organization, such as Legal, Privacy Engineering, Security, IT, and Technical Program Management to understand their requirements for privacy and build scaled solutions. Influence key decisions on architecture and implementing scalable, reliable, and cost-effective privacy measures. Define long-term product privacy, and information governance strategy by proactively identifying emerging customer needs and business opportunities, and leveraging requirements from Cruise Privacy. Launch new initiatives, test their performance, and iterate quickly. Validate alignment with privacy and information governance requirements, and work with Technical Program Managers to document any unmet requirements. Establish a shared product vision and strategy for your product area, rooted in a deep understanding of the privacy and information governance domain and unmet customer needs. Leverage risk assessments, industry standards, and metrics to generate insights and improve our posture across all products. Communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions clearly across a wide spectrum of audiences from internal customers to executives. Exemplify best-in-class privacy and information governance practices in everything you touch.
What You Must Have
8+ years of product management experience delivering highly secure and privacy-conscious products at scale. Shown success leading highly technical security and privacy initiatives. Experience formulating and driving a principled product privacy and data governance vision, and being responsible for the narrative with leadership and vital team members. Solid experience collaborating with cross-functional partners from Engineering, Legal, Privacy, Security, and User Experience Design. Ability to generate crucial product insights through risk assessments, quantitative, and qualitative analysis. In-depth knowledge of data security, privacy, and information controls, and secure software engineering practices. Outstanding communication skills: verbal and written, with engineers, non-technical partners, and executives. Thrive in ambiguity, crafting simplicity and order. Creativity and curiosity: you’re driven to find novel solutions and push forward an entire industry with secure and privacy-conscious products.
The salary range for this position is $234,700 – 345,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
