JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager for our distributed electronics business in the food retail market. Food retail requires accurate control of different conditions to guarantee that perishable goods are managed and stored correctly while reducing energy consumption, total cost of ownership and carbon footprint. Within this businesses we offer efficient solutions for the management of self-contained and remote cases, walk-ins, compressor racks and condensing units. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving this portfolio to achieve the sales and profit plan. You are the expert in the user, the jobs that they are trying to accomplish, and the problems they face. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Senior Product Manager works with sales, solutions, service delivery, marketing, and engineering teams to build a growing network of happy, referenceable customers for our solutions.

AS A SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER, YOU WILL:

  • Build the Vision, strategy and portfolio management for Cold Chain’s Distributed Electronics Business:
  • Own product strategy, product portfolio, roadmap and life-cycle management for remote and self-contained cases, walk-ins, compressor racks and condensing units and food retail markets in North America Ensure, in collaboration with the Product management team, that Electronics and software portfolio roadmaps are aligned with the Enterprise roadmap and other Cold Chain verticals Support product discovery and experimentation for retail applications
  • Conduct risk analysis to identify assumptions and key questions and the best tracking method Support development and governance of conducting experiments to answer key questions and address risk analysis
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the industry and lead key industry initiatives that drive product and technology development Understand relevant market and category trends to include disruptive technologies and legislative, agency and regulatory impacts.
  • Monitor competitive activity, and assess competitive product and technology strategies
  • Work with key industry functions and committees as a Subject Matter Expert who can drive Emerson visibility and influence in the market Establish Product requirements and prioritization of development work
  • Ensure new product or feature development is aligned with business strategy and goals
  • Overall responsible for signing off product and detailed feature requirements
  • Prioritizes the work across the portfolio (new customer features, products improvements, bugs, maintenance and cost optimization)
  • Drive Customer acquisition and go-to-market support Develop insights about the user interaction and technical functionalities with the product and eco-system
  • Develop skills to understand deep knowledge of data that enables us to understand product and user behavior, measure progress, prove if ideas work and inform decisions
  • Oversee the framework and requirements for product training of service/sales and other key go-to-market functions
  • Represent the product group in engagements with end users, OEMs, integrators and third parties and can speak to technical specifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 5 years of Product Management experience in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Electronics, or other relevant area
  • Established track record of finalizing projects and bringing products to market
  • Ability to travel up to 15%, including international travel

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor’s Degree in technical field 5-7 years of professional experience in Food Retail industry 5-7 years of professional experience of electronics and/or full understanding connected products

  • This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM 3:00 PM.
