Skills Breakdown

Earners spend the majority of their time with the Uber app on trips-navigating from A to B, completing pickups and drop offs. The Trip Experience team’s mission is to make sure earners can get their trips done flawlessly and efficiently, whether it be a ride or delivery trip. As a PM in this role, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end on-trip experience, which means building a core trip experience that scales to new opportunities (like grocery, Rx, package delivery), and ensures earners can complete their trips with confidence and satisfaction!

What The Candidate Will Do

  • Build a vision and strategies: work with your cross-functional team to define a product vision for the on-trip experience and identify near and long-term initiatives to build your product roadmap.
  • Design solutions: partner with Design to build thoughtful, fit-for-purpose user experiences that support earners.
  • Align and inform: work closely with cross-org teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align business and product strategies. Clearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results, to a spectrum of audiences, including internal partners and leadership teams.
  • Implement: translate user needs and insights into product requirements by distilling user problems, writing hypotheses, and describing desired outcomes. Work very closely with data science, design, engineering, and business functions to bring products to market.
  • Monitor and iterate: distill insights from various data sources such as user research and experimentation results, and apply the findings back into the product development process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management or equivalent.
  • At least 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with a track record of partnering with engineering, design, data science and business functions to deliver successful projects at scale.
  • Experience building consumer products. This is a user-focused role-we are looking for a PM with deep emotional intelligence for users, and experience turning complex experiences into sophisticated products that delight.
  • Proven data analysis skills, and experience using data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Genuine passion for Uber’s mission, our products, and the company’s hybrid technology/operations nature. Curiosity about understanding how things work in all regions across the world.
  • Strong user empathy-thinks about the “why” before the “what”, wants to get on the app and try to drive and deliver. Passionate about always making the user experience positive and unwilling to allow product challenges to impact users negatively.
  • “Go Get It” mindset-biased toward action, a phenomenal collaborator, never hesitating to jump in and tackle challenges hands-on.
  • Unquestioned integrity with assertiveness, presence, and confidence. Excellent influencing skills at all levels in the organization, acute flexibility in a multifaceted, ever-changing environment. Competence in making timely, effective, principles-based decisions.
  • A love for formulating product visions from user research, gaining buy-in from key team members, and crafting actionable roadmaps. Proficient at requirements gathering and definition.
  • Data-driven-gather data and distill into informative stories, leverage data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Technical skills-ability to advise and evaluate engineering decisions.
