About the Team 

As part of the larger AP and Instruction Department, the Digital Transformation Team is a strong and collaborative group of Product Owners, Product Managers, and Product Development professionals. The Digital Transformation team is responsible for managing a portfolio of digital assessment and instructional products and leading the work to transition paper assessment programs to the College Board’s digital assessment platform.  This team works closely with colleagues in technology, user experience, operations, assessment design & development, psychometrics and program management to design and develop digital solutions that meet the needs of our users.   

 

About the Opportunity  

As the Senior Product Manager for Digital Testing, you will create a vision and maintain a roadmap for a product based on trends in the market, customer needs, and organizational priorities. You are motivated, and serve as a proactive leader who operates well with excitement in solving problems and getting things done. You are eager to solicit, analyze, and action feedback from internal College Board functions such as Customer Service, Program Management, Communications, Data Governance, Legal, LEvR (Learning, Evaluation, and Research), Marketing, Information Security, Risk Management, and User Experience. You constantly seek useful information that can shape our products for the good of the user; and build strong, productive relationships while guiding/leading/nurturing your teams and stakeholders to produce tremendous value for our customers. The greater the complexity you face, the greater initiative and leadership you assume; you are adept at exercising your influence to get things done across the organization.   

 

 

Responsibilities of the role 

 

Product Vision, Roadmap, & Strategy 

  • Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap and maintain the roadmap as market needs and internal priorities evolve 

  • Understand and support program goals, while also understanding customer needs and validating solutions? 

  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce operational complexity and risk 

  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of the market including the competitive landscape, trends in the market, customer needs and market requirements 

  • Gather market data and user feedback consistently to shape the product roadmap and improve user experience 

  • Lead new product development through developing business cases and rationale for new product investments 

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver new product offering into the market. 

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization to develop a go-to-market strategy and launch plan. 

 

Deliver Roadmap Priorities 

  • Understand and deliver the highest priority features on the product roadmap that are aligned to the product vision and organizational priorities 

  • Proactively define and communicate Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product that drive action focused on outcomes (vs. outputs)  

  • Understand, prioritize, and manage the flow of initiatives and features? and participate in planning activities 

  • Collaborate with product owners to define release plans and gain a shared understanding of work within development?teams? backlogs 

  • Provide feedback to product owners during demonstrations of product designs and completed work? 

 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Relationships 

  • Collaborate with product owners and CB internal functions to develop and update external and internal training, support materials, manuals, marketing materials, and communications for new product features. 

  • Communicate product updates to internal and external stakeholders 

  • Collaborate with internal functional areas to identify and implement changes to the product’s implementation processes, program policies, and operational support model.  

 

About You 

You have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA or related master’s degree preferred  

  • 10+ years relevant experience, specifically in K-12 digital assessment and managing a product from inception through design to implementation and launch  

  • You are the opposite of passive or “pass the request from X through to team Y” people 

  • You bring a customer-focused and organizationally aware mindset; inquisitive and possess tremendous learning agility 

  • Experience working in an Agile product development work environment 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to complete complex tasks
