Overview

Manage product development marketing activities as they apply to new digital apps/services (products) for Advanced Bionics.

What you’ll do:

  • This position is responsible for setting the product strategic direction and tactical implementation of activities that will lead to a customer-centric and goal achievement culture. Responsible for ideation through to development/V&V phases for non-medical and Class III medical device digital assets (e.g. apps, eServices and portals)
  • This includes development of marketing plans and activities that drive the flow of products to our customers in a manner that highlights differentiation from competitors and value for our customers
  • This product champion is the hub for product and market knowledge, planning/execution, and achievement of business objectives – specifically attainment of revenue and market share targets as it relates to digital products for Advanced Bionics.
  • The incumbent in this position will be regarded as an expert related to the product lines, competitive landscape, and key global customer dynamics in CRM with broad knowledge of related areas
  • Thoughtful digital product life cycle management that includes consideration of launch cadence, features and capabilities, sunset and integration of older digital products, and workflows with Sonova offerings when appropriate.
  • The Product Manager is responsible for identification of global customer and market needs/wants through voice of customer activities from concept and product development.
  • Implement a holistic approach for determining customer needs for requirements by engaging internal and external stakeholders to uncover product marketing needs, conduct detailed market research to identify new product requirements, and engage in early-stage user demo groups to ensure products align with customer preferences
  • Collaborate with R&D&T throughout product design, development, and validation phases
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams across the Sonova affiliate companies (Unitron, Phonak, Sonova, Connect Hearing)
  • Develop and communicate specific Product Management documentation through the development lifecycle (i..e Marketing Claims Matrix, Use Case, Requirements, etc) for product ideas and concepts to develop new products or improve existing products
  • Assist cross-functional teams in formulating consistent documentation throughout the development lifecycle (i.e. uFMEA, Clinical Development Plans, etc)
  • Establish brand/product strategies, including development, implementation and evaluation of marketing plans
  • Conduct financial modeling to estimate the business value of products and/or strategies, and to drive prioritization and allocation of corporate resources
  • Represent Marketing on the Digital Franchise Leadership Team to drive product portfolio and business strategy
  • Develop comprehensive global business models for new product, encompassing market segmentation, value propositions, distribution planning and exhaustive risk assessment
  • Analyze competitive information and support Global Marketing in creating strategies and responses to competitive product launches
  • Analyze market research, leverage industry trends, consumer insights and competitive analysis to develop a forward looking and strategic roadmap to ensure company growth and innovation over an extended timeframe
  • Support merger and acquisition (M&A) endeavors by providing strategic analysis, due diligence support, and seamless integration planning to ensure successful consolidation of resources and operations
  • Represent Marketing in Core Teams to provide market-driven product requirements and strategy on a global basis
  • Develop and communicate specific Product Management documentation through the development lifecycle (i..e Marketing Claims Matrix, Use Case, Requirements, etc) for product ideas and concepts to develop new products or improve existing products

  • Define distribution/hosting requirements
  • Support development of overall roadmaps aligned to the value stream concept Support development of roadmaps for individual products / programs
  • Obtain input & coordinate cross-functional trade-off decisions to define product marketing requirements & improvement opportunities from internal & external customers. Gain cross-functional approvals
  • Support development of communication plans & messaging for products & programs to execute through corporate marketing including: video, collateral, website, sales presentations, & other media

  • Represent Marketing on the Digital Franchise Leadership Team to drive product portfolio and business strategy
  • Provide ongoing support for Global Marketing, Sales, E&T and Clinical Engineering post product launch
  • Create and maintain financial model for key projects inclusive of NPV, discounted cash flows, market penetration and share analysis.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Travelling Requirement: Travel required to support advisory councils, international conferences, sales, center support and focus groups etc. Travel time estimated up to 30%.

What you bring to the team:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in, science or business

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in marketing/business or advanced degree

Further Education

Nice to Have

  • Degree or certificate in audiology.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible marketing experience with strategic product planning and commercial execution in healthcare industry

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in Hearing Health Care or Class III Medical Device industry

  • Must be able to work with all levels of management and cross-functional teams

Social Competencies

  • Able to work under pressure and engage effectively across all skill/knowledge levels

Leadership Competencies

  • Evidence of experience leading large projects to completion in a corporate environment.

Language(s)/ Level

  • Excellent working knowledge of written and spoken English

Nice to Have

  • Spanish or German a plus

IT Skills

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Teams

  • Ability to understand complex digital IT and programming concepts.

Further Requirements

  • Able to travel on extended trips for conferences and other corporate offices.

Pay Ranges: $91,200/yr – $136,800/yr
