The Product Manager’s primary responsibility is to build products and solutions that deliver delightful experiences with a substantial value proposition across the payments ecosystem. To be successful the individual must maintain a high level of coordination and collaboration with multiple cross-functional stakeholder teams globally.

The ideal person for this role should have strong background in Network Processing , a passion for innovation in payments, technology, and product management, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to drive results within a complex environment.

The Product Manager will work with internal and external clients to understand the solution they are looking to develop. They will have an understanding the competitive and market landscape, Visa and DPS solutions, and use that knowledge in engagements. They are expected to have a key role in setting the strategy and influencing the roadmap.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with clients, partners, business unit leaders, engineering, architects, user experience and global cross-functional counterparts to build, iterate and refine new issuer processing solutions.
  • Actively participate in feature refinement sessions to gain understanding of new features and provide input on potential areas of impact.
  • Refine an assigned EPIC/feature by collaborating with stakeholders, performing market research, and analyzing existing solutions to ensure business impacts are identified and are accounted for.
  • Ensure solutions are extensible to all clients and can serve multiple use cases whenever possible.
  • Understand the network processing market, clients, end-user needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Play the role of a Product Owner on agile scrum team and will:
    • Be Accountable for Feature creation, refinement, execution, and release of high-quality features to a client consumable state.
    • Ensure an agile mindset in the team delivery and bring product vision, customer insights and feedback to the team. Communicate value and outcome of the planned features to the stakeholders.
    • Decompose features into user stories and support development activities.
    • Actively own, manage and prioritize team backlog and evaluate changing business/market conditions and impact to priorities. Make informed, data-driven decisions to prioritize team backlog.
    • Communicate status updates in a transparent manner with key stakeholders on a frequent basis.
    • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to effectively build, launch, commercialize and communicate new product features.
    • Deliver product/feature demos that communicate product value proposition and features and benefits.
    • Own the feature from development lifecycle through client consumption in production including any activity required for commercialization such as release notes, service description, onboarding documentation, etc.
    • Appropriately prioritize defects based on impact and provide update to stakeholders on frequent basis.
  • Serve as an expert in assigned areas of Authorization Processing, to all internal and external stakeholders, both in communicating updates and soliciting feedback and new ideas to drive better products.
  • Supports and communicates an overall product vision to both internal and external stakeholders and how it relates to the achievement of long-term business objectives.
  • Demonstrate Visa leadership principles by communicating openly, collaborating effectively, enabling, and inspiring others, and excelling with partner.
  • Identify opportunities for Visa Product to create market-leading solutions that satisfy customers and grow the business.
  • Maintain a client-centered approach in strategy development and day-to-day operations

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)
  • Prior experience working within an agile product development environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.
  • Strong attention to detail, technical acumen, and an ability to engage with developers, architects, solution management and cross-functional product peers to develop solutions.
  • Agile experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)
  • At least 2 years of experience in payments industry, particularly in Authorization processing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on outcomes (OKRs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work creatively, strong problem-solving skills, and a clear ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately.
  • Passion for innovating and delivering truly differentiated products & user experiences.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Drive projects in collaboration with product owners and leaders of all levels

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 112,500.00 to 153,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
