Job Overview
APTIM Energy Solutions is seeking a Product Manager, Innovative Programs. This role will be responsible for the design and launch of beneficial electrification programs including eMobility and home electrification as well as demand response (DR) and distributed energy resource (DER) programs with APTIM. Currently, may include provide point of sale rebates to residents to offset the cost of purchasing e-bikes, electric vehicles (EVs), heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, EV chargers, battery storage, solar, storage or other devices supporting electrification or load management.
The Product Manager’s Responsibilities Fall Into Three Main Categories
Subject Matter Expert (SME). Serves as an expert and consultant to business development teams and clients during the sales process. Serves as an expert and consultant to operational teams delivering programs as needed. Represents APTIM as a thought leader through conference presentations and other external facing activities.Program/Project Launch Manager. Leads cross-functional teams to operationalize newly won business from developing scopes of work during contracting through launch and hand off to operations teams once steady state is reached. Develops tools and best practices for program launches on an ongoing basis. Works closely with operations, marketing, legal, HR and IT teams, leveraging existing tools and resources. Product Manager. Seeks to continuously improve and/or expand APTIM’s capability set in the beneficial electrification and DERs/DR space through program, process and technology improvements, partnerships. Continuously scans the market for new opportunities for APTIM to add or expand offerings. Engages internal teams and clients to test and implement these improvements or expansions.
Location is flexible as hybrid office/telecommute will be needed for this role.

Our consultants proactively collaborate with clients to define and implement strategies and campaigns around key business drivers, with the primary focus of finding and delivering high-impact projects that exceed expectations and meet the unique needs for our commercial and retail clients.
The successful candidate will immediately assume an active role overseeing the design, development and launch to steady state of beneficial electrification and DERS programs. This role requires a critical thinker focused on finding solutions that strike a balance between stakeholder demands and program needs. The unprecedented nature of these opportunities requires an individual who is comfortable with and capable of adapting to changing work and responsibilities. The Product Manager, Innovative Programs, serves as a resource for the leadership team and cross-functional team members to ensure commitments to stakeholders are delivered. This person will communicate across functional teams to exchange ideas, embraces a collaborative approach, takes ownership of their workspace, and finds solutions to challenges as they arise. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks, be well-versed in beneficial electrification, demand side management programs and DERS program requirements, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to maintain positive relationships with the client, colleagues, implementation subcontractors, and other market stakeholders. This role requires a person who is accountable, process driven, and detail oriented.
In addition to being an outstanding project leader and communicator, the successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. In this role, you will be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry. This role will involve direct engagement with APTIM’s commercial and retail clients and utilities (regulated and non-regulated), municipalities/cooperatives, government agencies, and cross-selling energy management strategies to established APTIM customers across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Work as part of a clean energy/energy efficiency team ensuring that the administration, implementation, and verification of climate impact projects are successfully executed. Manages launch of new projects and programs, leveraging Ops Team and turning the keys over to Ops Team at appropriate time, including planning and resource management, client interface during launch and builds tools and processes to support launches based on experience Research key topics in the beneficial electrification and DERS space in partnership with BD and seeks opportunities through conference attendance, presentations, partnership, and pilotsManages DERS/Emerging Tech program team Lead the collaborative efforts of all personnel and other resources (internal and external) necessary to successfully accomplish the strategic planning, administration and implementation of Program initiatives and offerings. Developing relationships with industry partners to identify and address their needs from the Program which may include public and small group presentations and information gathering sessions. Writing technical and non-technical summaries, blogs, newsletters, and other educational content for a wide variety of industry audiences.Proven experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholdersSupporting program design by staying current on the latest energy-saving technologies and outreach strategies by attending webinars and conferences, reading various sources of information, and networking with industry stakeholders Contract management; reporting and tracking program performance and metrics. Manage external clients, vendors, contractors through project execution tasks Tangible experience with managing schedules, cost, and project scopes throughout the development and implementation process of energy efficiency or cost saving programs/projects.Review and approve all project timeliness from internal and external team members.Prepare presentations related to the project for both internal and external team meetings.Monitor market conditions, innovations, and trends to evolve project execution methods Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment within the team and the broader organization Ensure compliance with all APTIM and client quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college / university or equivalent work experience. 5-7+ years’ program/project experience related to energy program management, implementation, or administrative oversight. Quantitative and analytic capabilities including report writing, spreadsheet analysis, and identification of existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.Advanced written and oral communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.Must be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with excellent time management, project management, and follow-through.Deep experience across one or more of the focus areas of DR, DERs, and electrification.Willingness to learn new technologies across multiple industries. Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience with client engagement and coordination. Proficient in Microsoft Office software — Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint,
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
PMP and/or the desire/ability to obtainKnowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and/or Power BI.Professional experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, such as state, local and federal governments, for-profit and non-profit organizations, utilities, and others.2+ years’ experience in DER or DR consulting for utility clients1+ years’ experience in the emobility industry preferred. CEM, BPI, MBA, PMP, or similar certification.
