JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine customers’ and regulatory needs and desires by performing the research needed to obtain necessary market information.
- Recommend the fitness for use criteria for present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; and appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
- Assess market competition’s comparable products.
- Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
- Obtain product market share by working with the sales director to develop product sales strategies.
- Assess product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
- Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses, answering questions and requests.
- Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
- Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
- Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
- Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Understand all federal, state, and provincial rules and regulations, PEI and other recommended practices, and EPA rules as they relate to the design and use of products.
- Oversee the technical content of all product literature.
- Visit job sites and develop end-user relationships to understand product performance, improve product performance, and develop new products that meet the marketplace and regulatory needs.
- Develop needed policies and procedures to define our product offerings and limitations considering product liabilities, manufacturing capabilities, and product design limitations.
- Closely liaison between sales and engineering.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Minimum five years of relevant technical sales or business development experience
- Good understanding of Fuel Handling products and technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail with time management and decision-making skills
- Product Management and Development; Requirements Analysis; Pricing, Planning, Competitive Analysis, Sales Planning, Financial Planning and Strategy
- Ability to interpret data and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
