The Product Manager will be the go-to-leader for driving feature awareness and product utilization. They will help shape our go to market and customer-facing documentation strategies, contribute to the market-leading product roadmap, prioritize innovations, enhance scalable training, gather internal user feedback, and advocate user needs. They will create requirements and populate an iterative product roadmap that enables our content team to produce better hands-on experiences for their audiences.
This person will work on the Skillable Studio team. Skillable Studio is our flag ship product that provides the tools for lab authoring, content creation, skills assessment and more. This extraordinary product offers a comprehensive toolkit to craft world-class hands-on skills development and skills validation experiences that resonate with a global audience.
Job Duties & Responsibilities.
Follow and contribute to clear, consistent, and complete rhythms of communication enabling specific departments to do their part to drive revenue and/or reduce cost. Consistently iterate and clearly communicate details of the product roadmap. Clearly outline specifications for the design team and stakeholders. Collaborate with the design team and provide helpful feedback on processes. Own the role of product owner for increasing the Use Cases we support for lab developers and lab authors. Establish and grow trusted relationships with others within the department, aimed at better enabling the team to drive value, satisfaction, and loyalty. Work day-to-day with others in the Product Group to clarify feature and user story definition, prioritization, and ongoing refinement (Azure Dev Ops backlog management)Centralize all goals, initiatives, epics, features, and requirements in Aha!, according to our standard processes; and creatively contribute to improving these standardsReview and contribute to the Implementation and support processes, writing and approving internal and customer-facing documentation, and contributing to a product development lifecycle that produces high quality, consistency, high customer satisfaction, and on-time/on-budget deliverables. Work day-to-day with others in the Product Group and content development teams to document best practices for creating scored labs across all product lines (high-stakes and/or low-stakes), consistently refining as we plan and release new capabilities. Release features every quarter aimed at enabling customers to build higher-quality labs faster through Instructions Editor and/or Environment Builder and Gallery. Lead coaching sessions with customer-facing employees, contracted Lab Authors, and customers/prospects to convey the “why, what, and how” of building scored labs. Engage with the team by committing to dedicated User Acceptance Testing for every release and contributing to overall process improvements. Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. Other strategic business initiatives or special cross-functional project involvement as required.
Requirements
5+ years building hands-on labs and using labs to drive learning experiences with students during in-person and/or remote instructor-led training scenarios or relevant professional experience5+ years working with customers, writing product requirements, and collaborating with architects, developers, database admins, and related peer groups. World-class project management skills, including familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Aha! Roadmaps, Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana, and/or others. Deep understanding of Performance Testing (e.g., PBT) principles, best practices, and limitations from the perspectives of the candidate, the exam vendor, the exam delivery partner, psychometricians, and other related parties. An intuition for user experience and design – a creative eye, good imagination, and vision. Experience in Scrum, Agile, DevOps and related disciplines highly desired. Proactive approach to helping fellow technologists understand and leverage documented best practices related to systems integration. Experience and passion for coaching technical people. Strong understanding of modern front-end tools & technologies and how they interact with the backend (client-server model) – including REACT, RESTful APIs, Databases, etc. highly desired. Ability and willingness to participate in multiple technical projects concurrently. Desire and ability to work at a fast pace.
Salary Range
The base salary for this position is $140,000 – $160,000 annually. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position.
Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S. and we take a location agnostic approach to compensation. This means that your location will not be a factor in determining your compensation.
Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.

Working Conditions
The conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position will use their computer or phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Travel is anticipated up to 10% of the time for critical business meetings and industry events.
