Position Summary:
The CPO (Centralized Parts Operations) Product Manager is an exciting new role at Penske and will be responsible for delivering digital products and services to Penske’s internal customers. This role offers an opportunity to assume a leading role in the development of new customer-facing technology and to help Penske maintain a digital leadership position in the transportation industry. A great Product Manager understands that end-user value is the only metric of success and takes responsibility for achieving it.
Software/technical skills are not required for this position, however an understanding of software development processes are greatly desired; excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset are beneficial for success in this role.
Major Responsibilities
Work closely with users to understand their needs and expectations
Define product vision that addresses customer needs and determine features of the product
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Penske and customer organizations
Conduct effective presentations to customers and steering committee
Defining, validating and prioritizing product features
Work side-by-side with developers and designers as part of a cross-functional team to define, prioritize, and deliver digital products that meet the needs and goals of the business
Help internal and external stakeholders understand our user-centered, iterative and cross-functional development approach
Mentor and train new team members by coaching them on lean and agile product development methods
Removal of team roadblocks, distractions and impediments identified by the product team
Other projects as assigned by the manager
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
4 year degree or relevant years of product management experience preferred
5 Or More Years Of Product Management Experience Preferred
Effective communication skills are essential as close collaboration with customers and various departments throughout the business is crucial to the success of our offering
Previous Experience Working On Agile Development Projects Preferred
Background in design and/or software development a plus
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
