We are seeking a Product Manager to help grow our media business by developing 1st party audience targeting and distribution strategies. You will help build digital media experiences that help customers make informed choices in their home journey whether they are dreaming, shopping, buying, renting or selling. We believe in autonomy and adapting quickly, so self-motivation and the energy to blaze trails are must-haves for this role.

As the Data Product Manager, you will be the subject matter authority and own the roadmap for building out onsite ad targeting and personalization, audience segmentation and distribution, and performance reporting. You will perform vital research and analysis to understand customer journey state and onsite behavior, develop targeting approaches, audiences, and collaborate with other internal teams. The role will require you to have an understanding of direct and programmatic advertising and related technologies used in delivering ads and distributing audiences. You will build data products that meet the customer, partner and business needs in helping the transition to Zillow 2.0.

In this role, you will:
  • Own the roadmap for data product initiatives, balancing customer needs with business outcomes
  • Be the evangelist for your initiatives across the organization to achieve shared prioritization and execution on the most impactful work
  • Lead the product from concept to design, specification, implementation, and analysis
  • Drive annual and quarterly OKR and 90-day planning processes
  • Partner with engineering to build and distribute data audiences via technology platforms like DMPs, DSPs and CDPs
  • Shed light on audience and content attributes that are meaningful to marketing planning
  • Champion privacy-first ad data solutions that support multiple cross-functional teams
  • Write your own queries on extensive data sets to derive insights, optimize models, and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate plans, status and outcomes regularly with partners
  • Adapt quickly in an agile and iterative team environment

 

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

 

In Colorado, the standard pay range for this role is $110,900.00 – $177,100.00 Annually. This range is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations.

 

Who you are
  • 3+ years of digital media, ad operations, or product management experience with at least 1.5 years SQL experience in the 3 years total experience
  • Prior experience in media data products around data collection, ingestion, data warehouse concept, segmentation, analysis and modeling
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of buy-side and/or sell-side advertising data, digital ad serving and automated buying technologies for segmentation, targeting
  • Familiarity with user segmentation and/or personalization
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven collaborator; ability to work comfortably and successfully with technical and non-technical colleagues
  • A strong bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development
  • Proven ability to independently establish relationships, influence others and resolve challenges with internal & external teams
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to self-audit work
  • A collaborative working style with a strong focus on execution and results
  • Humility to question assumptions, seek broad input, and validate iteratively
  • Either a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technical/analytical field, equivalent tech work experience, or an MBA
  • Nice to have: experience working with a cross-functional team including data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts to build data science products through the entire machine learning lifecycle
