Position Overview
The Product Manager will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) within the company and will drive development of marketing collateral and messaging, customer outreach and education, and engagement with Engineering firms. The Product Manager will work with the various sales teams within HM Cragg to deliver sales presentations and with Custom Solutions Group (CSG) application engineers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to determine the appropriate product solution for opportunities. The Product Manager drives to become the “go-to” resource on BESS for engineers and customers. The Product Manager owns all BESS opportunities from identification thru order entry.
Reporting Relationship
The Product Manager reports to the Vice President, National Distribution Sales.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Owns and delivers the revenue and margin goals for the company’s BESS business.In cooperation with the Marketing Department, develops marketing collateral to promote BESS products to all target customer types.Develops educational presentations, engages with target Electrical Engineering firms, and delivers presentations that builds the company’s reputation as the BESS SME.Travels in the territory with salespeople from the PSG, LSG, Generator, and DC Power businesses to develop relationships with key end users and key reseller firms in order to make the company their first call on BESS requirements.Reads engineering and compliance documentation, electrical one-lines and specifications to assist the CSG in the development of project BOM’s and SOW’s.Works in conjunction with the CSG Program Manager or the OEM to prepare:Detailed solution specification and description.Pricing quote and proposal language.Submittal including commercial and technical product documentation- manufacturer’s collateral material, cut-sheets, user and installation manuals, other as required.Compile drawings- OEM standard or project specific approval drawings, project specific elevation and one-line drawings.Other project specific documentation and information as required.Perform other duties and assignments as necessary
Skills/Knowledge
Strong knowledge of AC and DC power equipment and battery systemsKnowledge of NEC codes and UL and NFPA standardsAbility to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsExperience in related segments, industry/manufacturing, telecommunications, Electrical switchgear & control, and UPSProven experience successfully growing sales of new productsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong organizational skillsAble to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize necessary tasks

Qualifications
4 yr. college degree, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred or related practical industry experienceProven experience making sales and technical presentations to customers and engineering firmsProven experience growing a new business lineStrong Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to Travel 25-35%
