Overview
As a Product Manager at PowerSchool, you will play a crucial role in managing a portfolio of both existing and newly created add-on products that complement the company’s core offerings, such as Document Management. This dynamic position requires a strategic thinker with a strong cross-functional focus, capable of driving product success through collaboration with various teams within the organization.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively across different departments within PowerSchool to integrate product functionality seamlessly with other products in the portfolio.
Enablement Activities
- Coordinate enablement activities company-wide, ensuring that teams are well-versed in the features and benefits of the add-on products.
Roadmap Development
- Set the course for the product roadmap, aligning it with strategic goals and budget constraints. Prioritize features and enhancements based on market trends and customer feedback.
Sales Support
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide support, including creating sales collateral, conducting product training, and participating in customer meetings to communicate product value.
Customer Advisory Board And Feedback
- Manage and coordinate activities related to customer advisory boards, gathering valuable insights and feedback to inform product development. Address customer escalations promptly and effectively.
Product Owner Support
- Support product owners associated with specific add-on products. This includes managing Jira tickets, backlog, release management, and coordinating engineering sprints.
New Product Launch
- Lead cross-functional activities related to new product launches, overseeing go-to-market strategies and ensuring a successful introduction into the market.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably with a focus on software or technology products (K-12 education market is a plus).
- Experience managing a portfolio of products, including both existing and new offerings.
- Track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Communication Skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strategic Thinking
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Ability to develop and execute product roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
Customer Focus
- Demonstrated experience in gathering and analyzing customer feedback, with a focus on enhancing the overall customer experience.
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to successful completion.
Technical Proficiency
- Familiarity with software development processes and tools, including experience with Jira and agile methodologies.
Adaptability
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing market conditions and business priorities.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $130,000 – $140,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
