About the Role:
Blend is embarking on a large transformational effort to upgrade our global Accounts Receivable (AR) platform to an automated system. This multi-million dollar, five-year project aims to modernize and streamline operations by moving six classic, mainframe platforms with 42 products (one dating back to 1977) onto the cloud, including building a data lake encapsulation layer. In light of this, we are seeking a seasoned Product Manager to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in this transition. This position will initially focus on documentation understanding what we have versus where we are going, without direct reports at the outset.
Responsibilities:
· Lead large-scale product development projects, focusing on product design and development without the need for coding.· Write features, gather and document business requirements, build customer journeys, and break them down into manageable work features.· Conduct business systems and requirements analysis.· Understand system architecture and how systems interact, including API knowledge.· Create business process flows using Visio or similar tools.· Present technical solutions to non-technical audiences and vice versa, serving as a translator between the technical and business teams.· Influence and lead cross-functional teams outside of Global AR.· Manage stakeholder relationships, with Product Owners handling engineering team management (Product Owners report into Product Managers).
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems, Business Administration, or related technical field.· Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in leading large-scale, multi-million dollar product development projects.· Financial services experience is required, with a preference for those with a credit card background.· Proficiency in Agile methodologies, specifically at the SAFe layer.· Solid understanding of product development, business systems analysis, and requirements analysis.· Experience building out business process flows.· Effective communication skills, able to create presentations for various audience levels.· Experience with transitioning mainframe platforms to a global cloud framework is highly desirable.
Requirements:
· Must be able to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ at least 3 days per week.· Ability to provide detailed responses about product management and product development experience during interviews.· Strong technical abilities, knowledge of architecture, and understanding of APIs.
Interview Process:
· Initial Screen· The first interview focused on technical abilities and knowledge.· The second round will assess soft skills and team cohesion.
