The Customer Experience & Digital Transformation team works with all customer and provider facing departments to facilitate the development and enhance the customer/provider experience.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Lead Product Manager leads all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace, by developing products to meet specific customer needs and achieve specific cost and success outcomes. Once products are launched, monitors efficacy of products and uses customer and business partner feedback to ensure products are meeting customer needs across each customer segmentation, adjusting products over time to continue to achieve the desired outcomes. Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area. Requires cross departmental collaboration and conducts briefings and area meetings; maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Employs empathy and design thinking to define scalable product solutions by deep knowledge of internal and external customers digital habits
  • Takes a digital first approach to education and understands that digital can be one of many touchpoints in the user journey
  • Encourages adaptability informed by emerging solutions, industry trends and changing customer needs
  • Drives prioritization of research to identify pain points and solutions
  • Partners with cross functional teams to define, develop and deliver differentiated digitally enabled experiences
  • Enables business partners to take ownership over content experiments
  • Establishes product direction and roadmaps, informed by customer and business needs, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to drive alignment
  • Aligns product priorities to a broader product portfolio roadmap
  • Manages and prioritizes a product backlog for both Design and Engineering
  • Fosters a strong agile discipline and inspiring teams to continuously improve delivery through key agile metrics
  • Partners with technology to influence end state architecture that drive secure, resilient and scalable technology solutions

Key Accountabilities:

40%    The Lead Product Manager is also responsible for key aspects of the Agile Release Train (ART):

  • Manages the Product from Innovations, exploration, integrations, deployments and market releases (including ensure appropriate internal and external marketing material is created)
  • Creates and prioritizes Epics and Features to meet the needs of our customers
  • Supports the Product Owner in driving epics/feature/stories and prioritization of content of the Program Backlog (features/enablers)
  • Acceptance decisions for Product Increment implementation
  • Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap
  • Participate in PI planning and execution activities
  • Supports and directs the Product Owner in defining releases and program increments
  • Strong collaboration and alignment with Product Owners, Release Train Engineer (RTE)

30%    Must be able to develop strategic plans related to their products (provider and government portal).  Apply critical analysis skills to resolve conflicting priorities and needs of business areas to prioritize product owner and team members focus to the best benefit of the enterprise overall.
20%     Manages and develops a team of associates by guiding them in the best leadership practices and ensures the day-to-day goals are met

10%    This role will need to have strong soft skills to be able to build relationships across the organization, as well as 3rd party vendors (when applicable).  Be able to communicate effectively and clearly drive results.  Must be able to provide audience specific level of detail communications to Agile Team Members as well as Organizational Leaders and Executive Committees

Required qualifications

  • 4 or more years of technical experience in product ownership, product management and/or project management experience
  • 3 or more years of experience translating strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products
  • 2 or more years of proven leadership experience, ideally leading a team within a product/product management environment
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a product throughout its lifecycle from concept to delivery
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, meeting facilitation, negotiation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions and deliver the highest quality work
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to work with project stakeholders and remote teams at all levels in the organization in a collaborative, team environment
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other programs required for assimilating and presenting reports)
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship
  • Successfully receive approval for government security clearance (eQIP – Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing)

Work at Home/Remote Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems or related field
  • Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/ Product Manager (if you do not already have certification, it may be required once you start)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and influence stakeholders to determine business strategy in the digital arena, develop and execute big ideas while maintaining collaborative working relationships
