The team: The Curriculum Product Manager is a part of the IM Product Strategy team which drives the direction and success of the organization’s product strategy, roadmap, and development, aligned to IM’s vision and goals. The team develops and executes strategic plans and initiatives to meet clients’ and partners’ needs by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define product requirements and develop innovative solutions that support and enhance the IM classroom experience. Critical to that experience are the team’s talented group of math educators, designers, and technologists whose highest priority is setting up students and teachers for success with coherent, standards-aligned, equity focused, problem based PreK-12 curricula and professional learning products.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Curriculum Product Manager who will report to the Sr. Director, Product Strategy and oversee curriculum products from inception to implementation. The successful candidate moves easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail, and is a born collaborator who brings skills of teamwork, diplomacy, adaptability, problem-solving, and strategic thinking to their work every day.

Essential Functions/Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional workManage a portfolio of curriculum product initiatives in various formats (e.g., print, digital, video, etc.). Become an expert on IM product features and ensure coherence across the product portfolio. Work with the Sr. Director, Product Strategy to define and execute a comprehensive curriculum product roadmap, ensuring alignment to the company’s strategic goals that will meet expectations for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.Define each stage of the product development life cycle so that teams always have a clear path forward. Work with the Sr. Director, Product Strategy to plan and oversee market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive landscape.Help monitor product performance, analyze user feedback and data, and drive iterative improvements and feature enhancements.Prioritize product features and initiatives based on their potential impact, feasibility, and alignment with business goals.Prioritize competing demands across multiple internal and external stakeholders. Anticipate stakeholder needs in order to develop and discuss potential solutions.TeamworkCollaborate with Content Development and Client Success teams to define product requirements and specifications based on product discovery.Work closely with the technical team, providing clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure successful product delivery.Coordinate with the Brand and Communications team to develop effective product positioning and messaging.LeadershipMake well-informed and timely decisions based on data, customer insights, and the overall product strategy.Communicate effectively with IM partners and other stakeholders, providing progress reports, and managing expectations. Foster a transparent and open environment for sharing ideas and feedback.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or related field. Proven experience as a Product Manager with a track record of success in educational publishing, educational technology, or a related industryExperience developing product roadmaps to define and lay out a strategy that helps guide the development, release, and expansion of products.Strong understanding of the K-12 education space and instructional practices, and product and user life cycles. Experience using content management systems and K-12 learning management systems.A track record of working collaboratively and effectively with technical and non-technical partner teams to oversee delivery of product solutions.Experience working alongside cross-functional teams, understanding business goals, end-user needs, and stakeholder requirements.Excellent organizational, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management skills.Demonstrated commitment to seeking and listening to feedback that encourages growth, surfaces blindspots, and recognizes and disrupts patterns of inequity.Excellent self-management and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to work on a highly collaborative team to meet departmental and organizational goals.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Desire to learn and grow in an organization that is expanding its reach and impact.Must reside in and be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Compensation & Benefits
In alignment with our commitment to equity in practice and policy, Illustrative Mathematics is committed to equity and transparency for our team and offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience and education. This position is exempt. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000.
