Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for product development? We’re seeking a skilled New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to spearhead our team, guiding them in crafting a visionary 10-12-year product development roadmap. Your expertise will be pivotal in orchestrating every aspect of the development process, from inception to market launch.
In this role, you’ll be at the helm, ensuring that our NPI programs not only meets but exceeds all benchmarks for product functionality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Your strategic oversight will be instrumental in maintaining program cost efficiency while delivering top-notch results. What You Will Do
Spearhead the NPI team, leading the charge in developing and introducing new models, setting ambitious targets for performance, quality, cost, and investment. Drive program execution, adhering to the Corporate NPI Process, while identifying critical customer and business requirements, and technical specifications to ensure successful outcomes. Tackle technical, cost, marketing, manufacturing, materials, and test & evaluation challenges head-on, employing strategic problem-solving to achieve resolutions. Assign resources effectively and explore alternative solutions when needed. Foster teamwork through structured breakdown structures and project workbench activities, ensuring cohesive collaboration across teams. Develop comprehensive test plans and review all relevant plans to ensure smooth product introductions. Invest in the development and training of team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Facilitate communication and coordination with other NPI teams and marketing entities. Play a pivotal role in decision-making processes for NPI concepts, design, testing, release, and production, with direct impact on product sales, profits, and investment strategies. Indirectly manages and provides guidance to work units primarily comprising management and salaried employees. Experience in driving impactful outcomes through effective communication and persuasion. Demonstrated capacity to lead and motivate teams shared goals. Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders throughout Caterpillar and its subsidiaries, as well as external contracts including customers and vendors in global markets. Address complex issues unique to the industry, driving innovation and establishing guidelines to ensure project goals are met and quality measure are achieved. Monitor and report on key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications)
A college or university degree or equivalent experience contributing to NPI programs in a construction equipment or manufacturing environment. Extensive experience showcasing progressive responsibilities, including direct involvement in NPI programs, highlighting expertise in driving strategic initiatives and achieving measurable outcomes. Demonstrated strength in commercial, business, engineering, and manufacturing domains, coupled with comprehensive understanding of product test & development, materials, accounting, and pricing functions. Proven track record to excellent problem-solving abilities, coupled with strong leadership and team management skills, enabling effective navigation of challenges, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization, facilitating seamless collaboration and alignment. Proficiency in delivering impactful presentations, leveraging compelling storytelling and persuasive techniques to influence stakeholders and drive decision-making processes. Familiarity with corporate operating and execution models, or the ability to quickly acclimate and adapt to organizational dynamics, ensuring swift integration and alignment with overarching goals and objectives.
Additional Info
Domestic relocation is available to those who qualify. Moderate travel international and domestic is required (15% – 20% of working time). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. ISE assignments are not available for this position.
